Immature Fer-de-Lance
The Fer-de-Lance is responsible for nearly all cases of snake bite in the upper Amazon Basin of Peru (Bothrops atrox). This is a juvenile (note yellow tail tip) coiled in the leaf litter. The snakes do well around humans, feeding on things like rodents. R
