Yellow-eyed Penguin - adult walking over rocks to cover the distance from the ocean to its nest hidden in the coastal vegetation (Megadyptes antipodes). Curio Bay, Catlins, South Island, New Zealand. The Yellow-eyed penguin is endemic to New Zealand and hence the rarest penguin in the world. They are endangered because of loss of breeding habitat which is mainly transformed to farmland
