Scots Pine - skeleton of one single ancient specimen growing along river Etive (Pinus sylvestris). Glen Etive, near Glencoe, Highlands, Scotland, UK. due to grazing land for cattle and sheep most of the ancient caledonian pine forests were cut. Only around 1% of the original native pine woods are left and they are mostly protected as reserves
