Bushfire - forest in Far North of the Northern

Bushfire - forest in Far North of the Northern Territory after a wildfire. Though trees and soil are still blackened, new sprouts of green are already visible. Northern Territory, Australia. Wild - or bushfires are a rather normal sight in the very dry areas of central and western Australia. A lot of plants; especially gum trees and cycads; are adapted to these conditions and quickly sprout anew. In fact; some of them need the occurance of a bushfire for renewal; which is the case with cycads. The traditional owners; the Aboriginal people; use this ability of nature to recover as method of hunting. With controlled burns they force grass to sprout anew which again brings back grazing wildlife like kangaroos. Uncontrolled bushfires; though; often eat up a lot of land and can cause damage which takes decades to recover. Such burn damages can be seen throughout Australia
