Asian / Indian Elephant tossing Monitor Lizard (Elephas maximus). Corbett National Park, India. Elephant used live monitor lizard as surrogate baby after losing own baby, but lizard was unable to feed or drink and so died. Elephant continued to keep lizard even though dead.After a gap of 5 years, the same elephant was seen with a baby elephant calf and another monitor lizard
