South American / Southern / Patagonian Sealion - This adult female sealion was swimming along the shore and was chased by killer whales / Orcas (Otaria flavescens). Punta Norte, Valdes Peninsula, Patagonia, Argentina. Killer whales do not capture the adults but sometimes chase them, perhaps practicing their hunting skills, perhaps as pure harassment. This animal got out of the water and barked for a long time in the direction of the whales.Latin formerly Otaria byronia
