GEOLOGY: K-T boundary site - The photo depicts the Sussex locality, near Linch, north of Casper, Wyoming, USA. The boundary layer separates the uppermost part of the Lance Formation (Cretaceous), from the Tullock Member of the Fort Union Formation (Tertiary). The hill at right is composed of the Lance Formation (Cretaceous); the upper part of the one at left is composed of Tertiary rocks. The K-T boundary is near the base of the hill at left
