GEOLOGY: K-T boundary site - The photo depicts a hill near the town of Sussex, north of Casper, Wyoming, USA. The KT boundary layer is located on top of the grey sediments near the base of the hill. It separates the uppermost part of the Lance Formation (Cretaceous, rocks on the foreground at right and under the prairie) from the Tullock Member of the Fort Union Formation (Tertiary)
