White-Quilled Rock-Pigeon
White-Quilled Rock-Pigeon (Petrophassa albipennis albipenni). Manning Gorge, Kimberleys, Western Australia. Australian endemic confined to the extreme northeast of Western Australia. Restricted habitat includes rugged sandstone escarpment country. Also gullies and gorges with pockets of forest. Perches conspicuously on ledges but quick to fly off with noisy clapping wings if disturbed. Often found in the bottom of gullies feeding on the ground
