Major Mitchell's Cockatoo (Cacatua leadbeateri leadbeateri). At Lajamanu an aboriginal community on the edge of the Tanami Desert, Northern Territory, Australia. Endemic to Australia. An inland Australian species but uncommon and of patchy distribution. Frequents mallee, mulga, lightly timbered grasslands, drier inland farms but needs access to water. Usually in quite small flocks
