Bark Scorpion (Centruroides exilicauda) -Photographed under UV light- Arizona - USA - Climbers - Most common around trees especially near streams and washes - Active at night but often found by day hanging onto the undersides of rocks-fallen branches-boards and bits of bark - Also found indoors especially in new developments where their natural habitat has recently been disturbed - Range is Florida and Gulf states-west to Arizona and Mexico - Included in this species is the former species Centruroides sculpteratus -Sculptured centruroides - whose sting is extremely poisonous for people and sometimes fatal
